Achieving a world first:
a waste gas heat recovery case study
Taishan cement works

Located in Shandong Province, China, this project utilises waste heat to generate electricity in a 13.2MW power plant. The temperature of vented hot air is also reduced, resulting in significant water-use reductions. Camco authored the UN Approved Methodology for waste heat recovery at cement plants and qualified the project under the CDM.

This was the first Camco project to be registered by the CDM Executive Board. It was also the first project of its kind to be developed in China and helps the country reach its circular economy goals.

741,260 tonnes of C02e emission reductions to 2012
