We have worked with Siemens UK to develop their Carbon Management strategy, which provides a clear framework, objectives and targets against which Siemens can work towards reducing its carbon emissions. We identified 84 actions, 60% of which have a payback of less than 12 months.
Our strategy included:
- 8 energy reduction and efficiency site surveys (at selected key manufacturing and office sites)
- Confirming the company’s emissions baseline
- Building a data system and calculation processes
- Supporting the development of a dedicated carbon management capacity within the company
Graham Jones, Head of Sustainability & Climate Change at Siemens UK, summarises our current progress:
Our corporate-level partnership with Camco over the past 18 months has been instrumental in helping us to identify significant opportunities to reduce GHG emissions at nine major sites in the UK and achieve our carbon reduction strategy. Camco identified more than 9,000 tonnes of potential emission reductions at these sites, equivalent to total overall reductions of 16% and cost savings of £2 million per year.
